WifiForge is an educational tool from Black Hills InfoSec that enables penetration testers to learn wireless security concepts in a controlled, legal environment without requiring specialized hardware.

Overview

WifiForge automatically sets up the networks and tools needed to run a variety of WiFi exploitation labs. Built on the open-source mininet-wifi framework, it simulates real-world wireless networks in a virtualized sandbox environment.

Key Features

No Hardware Required

  • Eliminates the need for wireless adapters and access points
  • All WiFi attacks simulated in software
  • Runs entirely within a virtual machine
  • Cost-effective training solution

Pre-configured Labs

  • Multiple wireless exploitation scenarios
  • Progressive difficulty levels
  • Covers common WiFi attack vectors
  • Safe, legal practice environment

Integrated Tools

  • Aircrack-ng: WiFi network cracking suite
  • John the Ripper: Password cracking
  • Wifiphisher: Rogue access point attacks
  • Additional wireless security tools
