Why I Use It

Karakeep has become my go-to place for saving random bits of information I come across on the internet — articles, guides, references, anything I might want to find again later. When I first set it up, I figured I would eventually migrate everything into my notes app, but I quickly realized that wasn’t necessary. Karakeep’s search is fast and reliable enough that I can find what I need without ever having to organize things manually. What really keeps me using it is the extra layer of utility on top of basic bookmarking: I can attach custom notes to any saved item, and it can automatically tag and summarize content, which means I often have useful context waiting for me before I even re-read something. It also supports OIDC, so it fits neatly into my SSO setup rather than requiring a separate login.
